REPLACEMENT ENGINE FROM EBAY

September 20, 2009: Have spent the better part of a month trying to free the engine but it just won’t budge.  Research on the G503 blog and the M-Willys blog are leading me to believe that the engine might be seized which would not be good.  Just in case, I bought an F134 engine from eBay for $50 from a guy name Spencer.  I picked it up in Sandusky, Ohio the following week.  After getting the engine home and evaluating my purchase, it appears to be in good shape so it will make a good replacement for the original if it comes to that.

TEARDOWN BEGINS

September 6, 2009:   The initial teardown of the jeep is underway.  Began by removing the hood, radiator assembly, and rear view mirror.  I then removed the grill and the left and right fenders.  All parts were bagged in zip-locks and labeled.

INSPECTION AND TITLE

September 4, 2009: Loaded the jeep onto the trailer to transport to Troy to the DMV for the State of Ohio inspection.  Jeep weighed 2280 pounds which was complete minus the seats.  First stop was Gaier's Dodge in Ft. Loramie, Ohio for an out-of-state inspection which was easily passed.  Thanks Ben!!
Inspection completed with flying colors and a brand new title issued in my name.  Power-washed the entire jeep removing the majority of the exterior dirt and grime.  I also discovered the presence of some Bondo on the rear corner panels.
